| Could southampton fans get together for a class action lawsuit over semi finals? 19:56 - May 21 with 599 views | FrimleyBlue | Lots of money spent on tickets, travel, hotels etc I suppose you're just paying to watch games of football so I think no But then you're paying to watch for a specific purpose......?? I guess even if they could they prob wouldn't want to hurt the club of course, but just wondered legally where it would sit | |

Tickets and any travel booked through the club are fully refundable. Given the huge question mark over Southampton actually being at Wembley even before the 2nd leg, anyone booking something non refundable is a fully blown idiot.

Which means they received the service they paid for. They got to watch the entertainment of a football match which is what they paid for. The fact the outcome is invalid doesn't change that.

The fact the outcome is invalid totally relevant The service you paid for was to watch your side in a semi final for a chance to get to Wembley. The service you received was watching a dead rubber. 3 edits....its before 8am! [Post edited 21 May 22:42]

Nope. You didn't. If you look at any football match ticket, season ticket, etc, the service you are paying for isn't the same as the prize at stake for the team on the pitch. You pay the same win, lose, or draw, whether the manager puts out a first choice eleven motivated to win or whether it is a weakened side happy to get on holiday as soon as possible. Of course, the fans who bought tickets expected that a win would give them the opportunity to go to Wembley. But that wasn't what their tickets were paying for.

Nope not in agreeance with this. A pre-season friendly with nothing riding on it is priced accordingly. This was a Semi Final to a playoff, also priced accordingly. At the time of buying the ticket you were buying a ticket for a match with stuff riding on it. Had you have known there was nothing riding on it at all would you have made the same financial sacrifices.
