| Ngolo Kante? 14:01 - May 23 with 1178 views | StockholmBlue | How about Ngolo Kanté on a two year contract? He is 35ish but still a very good footballer, and going to WC with France (I think). | |

Except one is 35 and may be capable of still playing in the premier league and the other is late sixties.

Ah, but Wark was a better player and can play just about any position. Age is just a number. If you can guarantee Kante is the player of ten years ago, getting up and down the pitch etc, for a full season then great if we can fight off the likes of the top half PL teams for his signature.

He is in the squad for the world cup and has also played in most of the games lately and done well. Playing in turkey for Fenerbahce so has not retired. If we want, and I think that would be a good idea, 1-2 experienced players in the team this would be a good shout. Salary in Turkey should not be a problem to match for a team in the PL.

Good enough to make the squad for the World Cup 2nd favourites, but not good enough for the 2nd best team in the Championship… 🤷🏻♂️

He’s playing in what wiki describes him as playing in the 9th or 10th strongest league in Europe. Whoopee. That follows two years filling his boots in a pub league (don’t blame him - easy money) in Saudi. And he’s old. A box to box midfielder that’s old. Ok, he might be able to do a job in a few games in the World Cup - I’ll be interested to see how he plays if/when he starts. That’s different to the grind of the Premier League where you are playing many of the worlds best players week in week out.

Perhaps Cesc Fabregas can be persuaded to leave Como and come here on a player/ assistant manager basis as well to get the whole band back together. [Post edited 23 May 22:05]

Funny innit. Kante would be a rolls royce in our midfield. Some of our fans have the footballing knowledge of a Norwich city trophy cabinet.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. Your footballing knowledge? You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself.
