There's so much money sloshing around within FIFA that they've got to keep changing things to justify keeping their well-paid jobs. Can't just maintain something great.... you have to make it better, which makes it worse.
Maybe a younger generation thinks differently, but I can remember so many iconic World Cups where there was less BS. Harder qualifications, less teams in the finals, more jeopardy, more football and less theatrics. And cheaper as well. Less plastic fans. And less coverage of the Tartan Army .... the most self-publiciising, self-aggrandising bunch of football fans ever.
That aside.... I enjoyed the England game last night, although we made it harder than it should have been. | | | |
