We have a lot of recruiting to do. We have to bring in the right characters, this guy will do it. I can't imagine any flair players being attracted by GON, unless bad seeds like Cunha. Just my take. |
Cunha arrived at Wolves in Jan 23 on a loan with an obligation to buy. O'Neil didn't arrive til the August. He inherited the player rather than attracted him.

I see a flaw in your argument. Cuhna was already at Wolves before O’Neil joined. O’Neil did bring Antoine Semenyo to Bournemouth - who seems to be of good character, and is a half decent player too. So, your point was?

| Simon Jordan has told Mark Ashton that O’Neil isn’t the right choice… on 21:07 - Jun 22 by BloomBlue | I wanted Thomas Frank, but Jordan said similar about him and the Spurs job after he was sacked, said he was too weak at handling the pressure. Seems to be standard Jordan response |
Frank would have been a risk from both sides. For him, he's somehow come out of his Spurs stint relatively unscathed given he played some absolutely turgid football with an expensively assembled squad. I think he’ll probably end up with a relatively top end job next. For us, he’s unproven outside the Brentford bubble. There’s a growing list of managers who have succeeded at Brentford but struggled since (Rosler, Warburton, Smith). Andrews has come in with no managerial experience and finished 9th despite losing their three best players.

DOH! My points were wrong. I still have an ache in my gut with GON as manager. I hope I am wrong... again.
