I bet that GON has been absolutely pouring over video's of as many matches as possible since the club first contacted him in order to build up a picture of the strengths and weaknesses.
But I'm also wondering if he'll have been in touch with Keiran to get his take on things?

No.
In a previous role I was offered the opportunity discuss a squad with the idolised retiring coach. Something I would never do again. There were players idolised by him and I felt the pressure that if I didn’t use them and things didn’t go right it was all on me. There were talented players that were not rated and I was advised to ship them out. I felt doing it my way suddenly came with conditions and increased pressure and risk.
I would never accept that advice on the squad again. It’s my way, my axe, my head or someone else’s way. GON will know this and I’m sure out of respect KMc will also. |  | | |

Obviously if McKenna doesn't want to talk to him, that's fine. I thought that was a given. I think people are just saying if GON wanted to sound him out, just a friendly chat, not a "Q/A session", then there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm not sure what relevance your last points are. We know he's left, and on his terms. Doesn't mean he won't ever talk to anyone at the club again. |

Perhaps Q/A session wasn’t the best description but if GON isn’t asking questions of KMK then what learning would there be? Friendly chat it probably would be but the purpose would be for one to elicit information from the other.
