So what do France do differently? 23:32 - Jun 30 with 4003 viewsCheltenham_Blue

Both countries have similar populations although France have an extra 5 million men.

Yet France have won 2 Euros and 2 World Cups.
What do you think The FA would need to do? Readopt colonialism?

Poll: If we were to spend £200m would you rather

maybe we should have colonised Morroco and Algeria before the Fench did. Might have had an Mbappe or Yamal. Does make you wonder how the England side would fare if we had never had an empire and subsequent immigration and was primarily white like say Slovakia.

Bigger population is a factor, and diverse demographics in the country from nations that build good footballers. Football is the primary sport there, they have twice as many active players registered to their FA (FFF) than in England.

Couple that with excellent academies like Clairfontaine (responsible for world greats like Henry, Anelka, Mbappe and Kevin Bru) and an easier pathway into their top tier. Most of the players in Ligue 1 are French, which isn't the case in PL.

More players getting a great footballing education is ultimately going to lead to a stronger talent pool.

The amount of PL clubs who hoard young players and don’t give them a chance in the PL can’t help, that’s for sure. It must help if players are getting game time at the top level. Was someone saying they have academies where players spend some of their week’s time away from their club - that can’t be a bad thing either spending time with your peers in an elite training environment.

Poll: Escaped Goat of the day. Who’s it going to be?

Too late now, if India and Pakistan were hot beds of football we would now be benefitting. The former French colonies mostly in Africa are footballing countries so the French national team is benefitting from 2nd or 3rd generation citizens who opt to play for France. Some will opt for grandparents route to play for African countries.
Also France isn't split into 4 national sides which further weakens us.

France has approximately 12,200 Uefa B coaching badge holders. In comparison, England's is roughly 1,190! The extortionate costs put off a lot of people from wanting to do it in this Country.

Spain has approximately 24,000 Uefa qualified coaches! Ultimately, if the FA were to reduce their prices and invest in local coaching, the standards across the Country would improve.

This extract was from Sky sports: 'France has exponentially more UEFA B holders than England due to a heavily subsidized, state-backed coaching framework run by the French Football Federation (FFF). In contrast, English football has historically been bottlenecked by The FA's expensive tuition fees and exclusive course admissions'

That being so, it is what I largely thought in a post above, quality and in this case quantity too, of elite coaches. Which further down the line would also explain the large shortage of very successful English managers A case of those who run the game in this country, cutting it's own throat in pursuit of the " dollar ".
