Does anyone else think that whoever wins the toss should be able to choose EITHER the end or to take the first pen and then the other captain gets the other one?

Absolutely would be the most sensible way to do it. Like at the start of the match. Whoever wins the toss gets to choose EITHER which way they play or to take the initial kick off.

Absolutely.

I think I made a similar point watching the Champions League final - PSG won both tosses, so got to kick first in front of their own fans.
