If we are seriously interested in Pope of course. We’ve been linked to other keepers who perhaps better fit the profile of our signings.

Alternatively, could be the case that Pope was one of the players being discussed, but GON just wasn’t keen and didn’t sanction the move.

Could we cut out the middle man and just get Trafford (ideally) or even Rushworth in ourselves?

(Not serious about Trafford of course; I rate him as high and probably higher than Pickford).

Swear I read Cov were quoted £30m for Rushworth.

You would have to be really certain at that price for someone who has never played a top flight game.

I'd probably opt for Pope for £5m - though that £15m rumour for a 34 year old, got me worried a bit although surely that was nonsense.
