They all work 24/7. I expect a few announcements in the early hours on Sunday and Monday.

Do their equivalents at other clubs work weekends?

Maybe Ashton and co get into the office at 8am sat morning send a fax to another club when they fail to pick up the phone the other end, only to find no response to the fax has been returned?

They leave the office at 23.00 sunday night disappointed no one responded to the fax sent at 08.00 sat morning

I wonder if they will discover email, phones and texting at some point? You never know, they may even work outside the office and find players and agents in other countries work different hours from the UK's Mon to Fri 9-5.

The truth is that I am sure deals are done over multiple channels with communication at all sorts of times.

That’s confused me during this World Cup. Like having a kickoff at 1 am. Why don’t they just do things in the day? These forriners are a weird bunch.

Poll: Escaped Goat of the day. Who’s it going to be?

I really hope we are not trying to sign / approach agents by fax ha

Maybe that is why we are waiting, the other side ran out of paper and our massive offers are somewhere in the faxisphere

It was a US tactic to stop the support for the European teams. I bet the final will be at a weird time to hamper Spain in the same way. It's also how they have somehow made the temperature ridiculously hot even in the middle of the night.

To get them back, we really should ensure the matches in Europe in 4 years should be played in the early hours too. That really would get them back and learn them!

Please no, at my age it's hard enough staying awake past 10pm let alone for kick offs at weird times like early hours of the morning

He's told you there way down the line on signings, you will have to judge how long the line is, or what you tend to believe what he says,

I am not sure if their equivalents work weekends, but one thing for sure they don't talk as much as mortar mouth Ashton

Yes, employment laws don't cover football clubs, they work 24x7, 52 weeks and don't get holiday allocation. Bit of a bummer for those with children during the school holidays, but that's the problem when you choose to work for a football club
