Wasn’t even a real game tbh, fun with some great attacking football at times but not a reflection of international football, no games have space like that, ever.

It was a statement of fact, how you choose to interpret is up to you.

I think some of our organisation has had space exactly like that…, we’ve looked vulnerable in every game I’ve seen, teams have always had a chance to get at us .., probably hence the Tuchel panic. It’s odd because Anderson has been unbelievable and rice when he’s fit - a bit off it physically at times. But the defence, they have a mistake or three positionaly in them under any sort of pressure, France could have and really should have scored 10 and in the games that counted we were giving chances to teams with little quality at this level. DJed was immense but is poor defensively at times, James to me looks a yard short of what he was and people have worked it out, he’s not at this level anymore, not sure if it’s fitness or injuries catching up, but he was always trying to pinch half a yard, and getting out of position. Konsa and Guehi I thought were excellent - but we never seemed to look comfortable at the back. O Reilly is such a good footballer, so technically gifted, but another who struggled to get basic defending right, we struggled in the full back areas for players who can defend, OReilly for the Argentina goal was 2nd division stuff at best, and he’s like that for City too, and why they always look like they’ll give you a goal if you can get them under pressure in wide areas. The art of defending in the fullback areas has been lost a bit - stopping crosses and covering, just not priorities it seems in the modern game. I do wonder why Trent didn’t go, when the others are no better at defending and James who is, isn’t fit/sharp etc Ah well. If my auntie had balls etc.

I didn’t watch the first half, but that’s what it looked like from the highlights. The second half was very enjoyable though. There’s possibly a lesson in that match somewhere about how increasingly high stakes (financial mainly) are killing the game. Take the pressure off and you get loads more entertainment. Which as a spectator sport should really be what it’s all about.

I have heard this too often. Trent this, Trent that, as if Trent is still the Trent we know from Liverpool. He had a poor season at Madrid, start-stop with injuries and poor amalgamation into the side, unfancied by Arbeloa who preferred Carvajal and Real have since bought Denzil Dumfries so Mourinho might not like him either. If you don't have form for your club you should not make the national team.
