I know I'll get laughed at for this, but somebody's got to say it.
Everyone keeps talking about Burnham's latest policies without looking at the bigger picture. Mark my words, they're going to bring about a boom in North Sea oil miners. You can scoff all you like, but I've seen these things before. It starts with a few announcements, then before you know it there's hard hats everywhere and the oil miner population overtakes the broom wranglers. Nobody in Westminster seems remotely concerned by this.
Now take Freddo for example. Lovely little chocolate frog, but let's be realistic. He's never going to be a North Sea oil miner, is he? Not qualified, too small, and I can't imagine the survival training would suit him. Yet he'd never bat an eyelid at the thought of picking up a broom. Says it all really. Society's perfectly happy for Freddo to be a broom wrangler, but suggest he works offshore and suddenly everyone's talking about "health and safety" and "basic biology". Double standards if you ask me.
People can call me old-fashioned, but I just think we've lost our priorities. Everyone wants to be an oil miner, an influencer or one of these consultants that never seems to consult anybody. Meanwhile there's a perfectly good broom sat in the corner wondering why nobody wants to give it a fair crack anymore.
I've attached a graph below. The figures speak for themselves. I didn't make them up - I extrapolated them from what feels about right.

When you present hard evidence graphs from extrapolated hunches, there’s really no arguing with it is there? It’s utterly conclusive and grounded in the science of human creativity.
You’re also very astute to notice that nobody is talking about Freddos and oil in the same context. It makes you wonder which sinister forces are driving the narrative when we’re being denied such basic truths.
