I would have thought these shops wouldn't sell them if people didn't want to buy them.
Personally, I think illicit fags are what happens when a tax becomes extortionate and unreasonable. For those who don't know, even the cheapest low-grade brand now costs £15ish per packet, while the better brands are £20ish. Whereas illicit fags can cost in my experience, roughly £5 or £6 per pack.

Friend of mine always puts his x800 ciggies order when I go abroad with my wife.
He reckons it saves him over £250 for forty packets.
Not sure how long they last him as he gets everyone else he knows who’s going abroad to get them for him as well.
My wife’s a GP and utterly disapproves of me using her allowance to help stock him up, but he’s 70 later this year and it’s his choice to smoke. |  |
