Even with these recent signings...... 14:45 - Jul 25 with 3506 views

Anyone else feeling our squad is still way off in regards to what is required to simply compete in the EPL? Appreciate there is still time to go before the first ball is kicked in anger, but I do still feel we need some quality additions especially in the middle of the park and a couple of other areas.

Look at the squad. Unless we are going to have a massive clear out in the next month. We are looking at 3 or 4 more signings at the most.

To me it looks like the squad is missing a lot from central midfield, full back cover/ new first teamers, goalkeeper( Scherpen), another striker. 3 or 4 AT MOST is hugely playing it down, and clearly we'll have a sort out of the existing squad once GON runs the rule over them. Will be interesting, lots of big money players that potentially don't have an obvious place in the squad.
Obviously Humphreys, H Clarke, Szmodic, AAH.
But also the likes of Johnson, Taylor, Mcateer, Nunez, mehmeti, ogbene, hirst, akpom, egeli.
Obviously not all, possibly not many, but there is huge scope to tweak as much or as little as GON wants. Will be interesting.
Either way a couple of huge solid centre mids, full backs, another attacker and the keeper are a must and the rest will depend on how GON wants to play.
