Clearly Ali isn't going to be part of our squad next season, but he's contracted until 2028 so he needs to find a new loan or permanent home.
However, I'm not sure whether he's Championship, League One or League Two standard. Injuries have played a part, but I don't think he's improved since we signed him from Wimbledon in L2.
I think Stoke thought quite highly of him when on loan in 24/25, but he barely featured for Luton last season due to injury and only scored once in 13 league appearances. A shame as it obviously meant an obligation to buy wasn't triggered.

Some extremely harsh responses on here based on him extremely out of his depth in the Premier League.
He's a better player than a lot of the strikers we had in League One before Gamechanger came in and many of them have never come close to dropping out of the football league. I'd have him above Jordan Roberts, Aaron Drinan or Gassan Ahadme any day of the week. | | | |

He's a punt that didn't really come off. Be that due to injury, the club out growing him quicker than his development, or just ability, is not really known by any of us fans. I suspect it's a bit of all of the above.
It's a shame, I had high hopes for him. I think fitness has really scuppered any chance of him finding his true level, as he just hasn't had enough game time since we signed him.
Personally, as a couple have already mentioned, I think, he is currently top of league one, bottom of champ level. With a season or two of consistent game time I suspect he could go on to be a solid champ level player. |  | | |
