I'll start by saying it is foolhardy to read too much into friendly performances, but here we go anyway....
Thought he looked a bit lost on Tuesday, didn't get into it at all, not even giving a glimpse of what he was about.
Yesterday he was all action. A hand in all three goals, lots of running, good link play, really well taken headed goal.

Yup, I agree.
I thought yesterday he looked like he had all the tools needed to be a good lone striker. Don’t think he’ll be a prolific scorer but he’ll get his share & contribute a lot more than just goals. |  |

He did well in the press on Tuesday, but yes, I did worry that he was going to struggle this season, as he really didn't get into the game at all, but yesterday gave me a bit more confidence that there's a player in there, who is not as rough around the edges as first thought. |  | | |
