I've seen loads of Embolo over the years. He's a very competent, experienced 'team striker' with pushing 250 appearances at the top levels in Germany/France, nearly 100 international appearances and pushing 60 games in the Champions League/Europa League. Not a prolific goalscorer but he has a strong all round game and is a worker/facilitator. I feel like our flair players like Enciso, Fatawu, Philogene would love playing off him.
He's a striking equivalent of Lukic/Diop really. You aren't signing him to double his valuation on the balance sheet over the next couple of seasons and to realise a profit. You are signing a hugely experienced player that can do a great job for us now. Does Delap have a higher ceiling? Probably. But he also has a much lower floor this season.
