Clarke to start against Palace? 08:50 - Sep 5 with 2853 viewsThatMuhrenCross

I don’t mind Maeda. He works hard and hasn’t really put a foot wrong, but I do think Clarke offers more of a threat going forward. I feel he deserves his chance.

Poll: Ipswich offer you 10k a week, Norwich offer you 20k. Who do you join?

Did Clarke do that much last night? Thought he put one of our best openers straight out for a goal kick and ran into defenders a few times. Was ok on the ball.

Clarke did plenty. He kept the ball well, harried the opposition, found space and played in Davis perfectly on more than one occasion. His shooting boots were still in the dressing room but we all know he is a good finisher, by and large.

No chance. Clarke is an off the bench man and Maeda will be a big part of Clarke playing/looking better when he comes on.

Maeda is relentless up and down. May bit have excited people last night but a big part in how we didn't ship a lot more.

Clarke up against that Munoz would have been complete care crash. You just can't afford Clarke from the start against the best teams because out of possession he's very very poor.

I thought Clarke was really positive and really good when he came on though. That's his role or at the least until Philogene is fully fit. If Clarke can impact though I would like to see Philogene given another go on the right in the same way coming in for Fatawu.

I would agree that Maeda over Clarke would have been preferable if Liverpool had double teamed us down our left more, but Araujo is defensive and in to neuter Maeda/ Leif, which is what happened. So if Leif was to do his defensive duties properly re Munoz, I don't think it would have mattered that much whether Maeda or Clarke started. Araujo starting over Frimpong might have been a clever move as Maeda was never able to get behind Araujo, who is quite pacy and defensive-minded.
