Me! Knee took a whack too, but not much choice than to soldier on.
Some fcking big climbs in the Lakes ffs
Grisdale pass to some Tarn and then onto Patterdale in the shadow of Striding Edge . 600m of ascent, but much less brutal than last two days climbs. 9.2 miles today.

How are your head and knee this morning ? And don't forget, The Lakes are just some light training to get you ready for Scotland...
Heads fine, knee was giving me gip all night but fine on the walk. Where I hit my knee obs a good spot (kind of inside the knee) so didn't effect me at all tbh.
But tomorrow's the hike that will test us most, 2900 ft of ascent apparently.

Today we went 13 miles from Patterdale to Brampton. Close to 3000 ft of ascent through the day as we scaled Kidsty pike before walking along the ridges before descending down to some Lake.
Awesome views of the Pennines in the distance, will be for next week before they test us.
Relatively easy 12 miler tomorrow to Orton. About 800 ft of ascent.

Think of it in metres of ascent. It sounds a lot less daunting

Made it to Orton. Walk in the park (wind aside) compared to the Lakes.
Done a 1/3 of the route now, about 66 miles in total I think.
Next two days have to get to Kirby Stephen and a rest day planned / does watching Towen count as a rest day
Twenty quid deposited into the RNLI box on the counter of the wee stores in Kinloch on the Isle of Rúm on Sunday. On behalf of your walk and in memory of much missed poster PJH who loved the island (and I am sure would have visited the shop - they do a cone of chips now, and a flat white.)

Ah, PJH. Such a lovely poster and much missed on here.
My old fella enjoyed Moelfre on Anglesey and was fascinated by the history of its lifeboat station. They were involved in some quite incredible rescues and had some right old characters volunteering there over the years. We donated from his estate and still do. They do more than save lives, they reflect and shape who we are as a society and represent the best of us.

I will drop some money here, it's a great endeavour for a great cause. Me and my mate Nick once ran Hadrian's Wall (about 80 miles) for Refuge - he ruined his knees (as in had to stop running for several years) and I spent 48 hours battling the squits (less bad long term, much more embarrassing and comical short term). This looks an order of magnitude tougher! Great work.

Nah, Laggers is just having a leisurely ramble.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."
This is excellent to follow - I ran the Hadrians Wall Coast to Coast route in 3 days last year, and have just completed the Cotswold Way in 3 days (16.500ft of climb on that one, horrific).
Hope the weather stays kind, can be on of the toughest factors for sure!
