Before today Everton had conceded 3 in 3 games with only 1 clean sheet. Today they kept a clean sheet against a Spurs side that hasn't scored all season.
Of course Everton are not going to be easy to break down but their defence isn't on a par with Arsenal's. Pickford is a top keeper but has his moments too. It will be interesting to see how open a game it is. Everton were creating more than Spurs today.
It should be no surprise that Spurs are struggling to gel so many new players. De Zerbi clearly showing the strain with laying into Tel on the pitch straight after the match. I wouldn't be surprised to see them part ways with De Zerbi and a new manager to come in just as the players are developing an understanding and for the new manager to benefit from that. It would be good to be playing Spurs now rather than later in the season but that's the way the fixtures play out.
A kinder set of fixtures would have seen us play Villa and Spurs as well as Coventry early on. That only puts our 6 points so far in an even better light. |  |

I am sure Spurs would pay the compensation if they wanted him but will they be prepared to take a gamble on an unproven manager (for all he has done, McKenna hasn't succeeded above Championship level yet and has no European experience which is where they want to be). It may also still be too soon for him. However, Spurs has the big advantage that he wouldn't have to relocate. | |

They just put a graphic up on SSN showing how many Premier League goals their attacking players scored last season. Richarlison tops that list with 11 in 32 appearances and he isn't available!
Add to that the fact they have so many new players it shouldn't be a surprise they are disjointed. Today they had 3 midfield players playing 3 yard passes amongst each other straight after an Everton attack broke down until the crowd got on their backs for it. | |
