First time at Selhurst Park since 2006... 11:59 - Sep 14 with 1754 viewsiaijn

...it's still sh1te. I was at the back, so couldn't see the far side of the pitch at all, and I can't believe they still do the cringe/obnoxious "Clinton"..."*Morrison*!" thing!

So very happy to have seen my first win there. In 2006 Fuller was sent off and we couldn't find a winner, and my previous visit in '99 saw Mogga score an absolute screamer...in the wrong goal for 2-2.

When their equaliser went in I resolved never to go there again - made the winner even sweeter :-D

Gives me PTSD of hearing, "Goalscorer for Crystal Palace; Dougie Freedman. Dougie....." all those years ago.

Yeah, I *think* I would find it lame if we did it, but maybe it's just because it's after we've conceded.

Yep it's up there with the 2003 4-3 win at Palace. Kuqi hit the last minute winner. Scenes

I think that was a wet afternoon & loads of Town fans had to move because the roof leaked when it rained?

It was indeed. A great evening it was as well. Away support didn’t stop singing for the entire second half, culminating in that massive pile on when Shefki scored the winner.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

I'm still cursing Tommy Miller for making that tackle to give away the 88th minute penalty.

He made up for it moments later though, with the assist for Kuqi!

I was at that game in 2006, last days of the Royle era - don’t remember much about it other than it being 2-2 and sunny

Funny you say it’s sh1t,as it’s always one I’ve enjoyed going to.

The day out is always good going there.

Each to their own I guess.

Palace 3-4 Town 22nd Oct 2003 10:27
Town came from two goals behind to win an astonishing game at Crystal Palace 4-3. The Blues were two down in 15 minutes but Richard Naylor's goals put them on terms by the break. Pablo Couñago thought he'd won it before a Freedman penalty drew Palace level but Shefki Kuqi grabbed a dramatic winner. 0

Like you I didn't have the best view but it's a proper ground and not an out of town new build and their fans are decent. Personally I like it, loved it even more after Flemming's winner.

My first Town away game, was a phenomenal evening.

I wish that was the last time I’d been there, in reality it was the 5-0 loss in 2012, starring luminaries such as Danny Higginbotham, Nigel Reno-Coker and Guirane N’Daw. Bilel Moshni was an unused sub.

I have not got over losing there against Charlton in the playoffs. If you know you know.

I did live a few miles away on Brixton Hill for many years so that may be it. Went loads of times not just for Town games. It's a good old school ground, normally good atmosphere. I used to umpire a Sunday cricket team captained by 'celebrity' Palace fan Mark Steel and him and the rest of the regulars at Selhurst Park are generally quite clued up and into their footy.

Special mention to that 4-3 Town victory that's already been posted. I got injured when Kuqi's winner went in, and did not care a jot. What a roller coaster game.

My dislike is that it seems to have been an evening game far too often, which makes the hassle of getting to Selhurst Park & back all the worse. No different from Charlton, of course, but that seems to have been Saturday afternoon more often.
