Whilst being busy at work I saw the clip of us beating Arsenal 1-0 in the cup all those years ago, and amongst those celebrating was Jaime Peters who feels like a long time ago now.
Not wanting to immediately return to work mode I did the only thing any professional procrastinator does and checked his stats on Wikipedia
Oddly the guy was only 25 when he left us after approx 99 games and apart from a handful of games for Yeovil didn't play football again for another 9 years when he went to a part time Canadian team.
Not making comment on ability etc and irrespective of this its odd to play 99 championship level games, be 25 and then just not really play again
Peters looked a very promising teenager, but rarely better than average at Town. Keane gave him a bit of a chance - I remember he started out first home game of 2009-10 in midfield. He was a regular that season, eventually being converted into a full back. He had a pretty good game marking Arshavin in the 1-0 defeat of Arsenal, but when Jewell arrived, he lost his place & never got it back. He apparently had a decent loan spell at League 1 Bournemouth & had an extended trial at Yeovil, but no contract was forthcoming.
Remember him getting out of a Range Rover in Cromwell square. He had a cushion to prop him up on the drivers seat. Was like watching a lorry driver climb down from his cab. twtd

Maybe he was like many players who are stars as youths. He stopped growing & probably wasn't powerful & athletic enough for top level pro football. When I am reasonably close to the pitch, I am amazed at the strength & athleticism of top pros.
