And waht's more I thought they'd done this several times, and that the Iranians were just gagging for a deal, a deal like the world has never seen before. Etc. Again. And again. Nurse!

| Things can always get worse! on 09:41 - Oct 2 with 853 views | Guthrum | That's far too small a force to be effective against the Iranian mainland, especially the mountainous areas above Bandar Abbas. I can't see Trump wanting to get directly involved in Yemen (otherwise he already would have done), he seems to think that's more Saudi Arabia's problem than America's. He might try to take one of the islands in the Gulf, maybe either Kharg (major Iranian oil terminal) or Qeshm (on the northern flank of the Straits). Neither of those is really likely to force Tehran into surrender. Indeed, the IRGC would probably welcome the chance to cause US casualties. Nor would they force the Straits open. Indeed, troops on Kharg, particularly, would be tricky to keep supplied. | |

Is a bit odd given the war was won in March. Maybe they're all going over with carrier bags to bring their oil back.

The Iranians are now only able to export 10pc of the volumes pre-conflict. But if we’ve learned nothing from Russia, Authoritarians don’t care for the economic well being of their people. They are simply doubling down, and activating their proxies in the gulf of Aden to really choke global supplies. So given how impacted Iranian exports are, any US incursion to one of the gulf islands would be pointless given the cost. Surely posturing from the US, high risk low, low reward.

Have you seen this interview with Time magazine? He's definitely in the early stages of dementia. Plus, that photo - I see the exact same face on confused, vulnerable and frightened older people ever working day of my life. https://time.com/article/2026/

Well, if anyone knows what it looks like, you do BB (big thank you for what you do btw. One heck of a job that I’d be utterly incapable of doing). Trump certainly seems all over the place. What a mess the Middle East is. A lot of it is his making but I get the impression he has no idea, no control of what he’s doing or has done. Little understanding of what they’re trying to achieve or even memory of six months of plastering the place to no effect. I bet if you gave him an atlas, he’d no idea where the was or the size of it. He just seems to survive on bile, bullying and bitterness.

So much has been obvious for so long, and yet the cabal of crooks around him prop him up for their own nefarious purposes, and the brain dead electorate re-elected him a couple of years ago.

I suspect the orange shtgibbon’s empty promises will still attract the Chuck from Podunk vote. As for the mob surrounding him, self interest rules. The fact that it would serve their interests better to be as far away from the senile old fool as possible just shows how dim and dangerous they are.
