I know we're too big to care about the lower leagues anymore but as we all know it's a league we were in not long ago.
He'll never be the most popular guy and he's probably invited some of his criticism at times, but he comes across pretty well here in a very philosophical press conference.
I've no idea what their squad is like and how likely they are to go down, whether it's just a bad start or if they could genuinely be in trouble. It'll be interesting to see if Savage's "attack at all costs" philosophy wears thin at any point, and how he gets on generally.

If we're being honest, they're right aren't they?
Unfashionable Ipswich is a description the BBC have used about us before. Usually in the context of the achievements of SAR and SBR. They're not wrong tbf.
It does beg the question though other than Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea how many other "fashionable" clubs are there really in England?

I think it can be read a number of different ways. Unfashionable could mean (1) not terribly popular, or it could mean (2) not subject to short term whims that come and go. A steady Eddie. Eddie Youds even.
When we've been at our best, we've been wedded to the latter philosophy. When we've been wedded to that philosophy and /not/ succeeded, well that is a little boring and irrelevant to the neutral fan, so it's unsurprising that some would view us as falling into the former.

He's always come across as a bit of a knob, but in a harmless panto villain sort of way to be fair to him, rather than an actual out and out knob like a Barton type.
He's done well in management, both at Macclesfield and Forest Green. Admire the way he's started down the food chain and earned his stripes. Peterborough are a bit of a mess, if he can keep them up this season he'll have done well.

He started well at Forest Green. However they’re currently 16th with one of the larger budgets in the national league so not going so well at the moment.

Panto villain ? Oh, I hope Peterborough draw Billericay in some cup or other so that we can see Savage screaming 'He's behind you' at his goalkeeper when Macauley Bonne tries it on...
I hope he does well, I've said it many times but I respect Tobbie. Worked hard as player, made the best use of his attributes to have a really good career, never the most skilful so he had to fins other ways if he was going to make it at a top level and winding up the opposition was part of that. He's always been himself, he really does love the game.
Yeah he's loud, yeah he can be bit of a pantomie villain but I think he's genuine and real so I hope he does alright at posh

They started pretty well this season as well but had a few disappointing results over the last month or so. Said in his interview there he's taken the average ago of the squad down by 5 years and the wage bill down, obviously need to balance that with results though.
Interesting to see how he does at Posh, they've looked pretty woeful this season under Luke Williams. A mate of mine is a ST holder at Posh and said they were very Russell Martin-like. Williams obviously Martin's assistant at MK Dons & Swansea, similar possession obsession, but unable to convert it into meaningful goal scoring opportunities like he managed at Notts County. Savage will be a bit of a breath of fresh air I imagine, whether it improves results is another question.
