No one is suggesting security checking people when they leave their house, don't be so silly.
They are suggesting checking people as they arrive at a venue where there could be mass casualties. |
The consensus on here seems to be that some sort of barrier checks are a good thing. Fair enough. But that should not hold up supporters getting into the ground. So, we need more checkers.
However, personally, as an ex Health and Safety Inspector, I could drive a coach and horses through the club's defence as it is at the moment. Too little done, too much ignored. Since this started not once have they picked up either my keys in my jacket or coins in my pocket. We did speculate was the wand actually switched on ?
After waiting in the line for half an hour yesterday I went through unchecked. If they had more bodies with more wands there they could be looking at people while they are waiting in the queue. But no, they leave it to the last minute and that causes chaos. |  | | |

Really? We finished our beers at the tent at 2:30 and were in our seats in the West Stand 10 minutes later. The queue moved pretty smoothly. |
for us who are working on a Saturday it is not always possible to get their early ,got there at 2.50 pm ,missed the first couple of minutes ,it just takes too long to get every fan through. |  | | |

Terrible once again in the West stand. Absolute disaster of a redesign. It’s a good job things are going well on the pitch because I now want to spend as little time inside Portman Road as possible. |
Before the redesign of the West Stand there was a security check just before each turnstile. So in effect one process. Scan, and enter. Now it's a melee for the scan. There's sixteen turnstiles (I think). plus the hospitality. Are there sixteen lanes for security? Not sure. Add in thats being done now more thoroughly and it's slower. The turnstile entry is factually slower too despite the technology. What used to take ten minutes now takes twenty. We used to arrive about 2.30. Now we can't be later than 2.20. |  |
