Forest H Hull A Bournemouth H (They’re away in Prague the Thursday before) Spurs A Finding two wins there would be huge, maybe one is more realistic. We actually play Cov twice before the FA cup third round in amongst the other festive fixtures and some tougher games. Maybe I’m getting carried away but if we can somehow find 4-5 more league wins before mid January we would be incredible shape. Four does feel doable on paper. Since the PL has been made up of 20 teams, there have only a couple of teams that have been relegated with 10 wins. There is at least chance and path for us to get to 7 or 8 wins by mid January if we come up on the right side of some of these over next 3 months. Everyone can say one game at a time as much as they like, with 3 wins on the board I’m taking a more in depth look now! So I’m aiming high, 8 league wins by full time of Cov at home on Jan 6th. That’s actually in 14 league games time. We will have 18 to play thereafter. Even if there’s a few more points needed to stay up 12 wins should get your there as no doubt we will draw some games. Would be mad to win 11-12 games and go down. [Post edited 14 Oct 3:48]

Man City could well experience the madness of winning 11-12 games and going down

We do seem a bit all or nothing don't we. Law of averages says we will draw at some point but I think I'm right in saying Sheff Utd drew just 2 of their 38 games when they went down that Covid season and managed just 6 or 7 wins.

Yep! If we get to 7–8 by wins mid January we’d likely only need to win 3-4 games from January to May in the last 18. I very much think we can win 4 of the next 14 at an absolute minimum. Finding 5+ wins in the next 14 and we’d be almost tasting it. In the immediate future, winning a couple out of Forest, Hull, Spurs would be massive but a point a game in the next 4 is also fine.

It's a help that City have a home game against PSG tonight, which will take something out of them & their fans will have had an opportunity to vent their spleen on the authorities. It may take more points than usual this season to stay up as, so far, no one looks like getting cut adrift. I thought Coventry might be, but 2 wins on the bounce has shut me up.
