| Three in midfield on Saturday? on 08:47 - Oct 15 by BlueMoon | That makes sense. GON has suggested he will be adaptable. If not this game then I don't know which. Of course it's nice to 'have a go' but goal difference is a thing and there's no fun in getting tonked 5-0. Self preservation and have a proper go at Forest a week on Friday. |
Note what happened when City brought an extra midfielder in the PSG match .

| Three in midfield on Saturday? on 14:27 - Oct 15 by jayessess | Other way of looking at is that it's useful to have the low block-counter attack as a string to your bow and, generally speaking, normal teams that go to the Etihad and get a result have had to get compact, defend their penalty area and score on the break. We had this plenty of times in the second and third tiers when the shoe was on the other foot - we *loved* it when teams came to Portman Road to go for it and give us a game, hated it when they came to defend deep, make fouls and waste time. Why give the home team what they want? [Post edited 15 Oct 16:14]

Town do have the abilty to play a low block using the system and personnel we usually start with. Plenty of times already this season when without the ball and under pressure, the team has formed itself into two tight banks of four, making it hard for the opposition to break through on goal. Fulham were utterly frustrated by that on Saturday. There is no need to start juggling positions or fielding loads of extra defenders. That is only likely to draw our teeth for those occasions we can foray towards their goal. We're not going to come away from ManC with a clean sheet, so have to carry a goal threat if we're going to even stand a chance of getting something from the game.

Keep one player up front all the time, even when City get a corner, so they have to keep covering players back. Saw a game the other week when the defending team at a corner kept three players on the half way line. So the attacking team had to keep four players back. There was loads of room in the pen area and the goalkeeper could not be blocked and plucked the ball out of the air.

Won't be pretty, but it's our only chance: Walton Ouatarra / O'Shea / Diop / Greaves / Davis Florentino / Palacios / Lukic Emersonn / Flemming Not a game for Enciso to be starting in my opinion. Too much of a luxury. |
Agree 100%, except enciso starts up top

Nope. That would be like Mr Bean going toe to toe with Mike Tyson
