Red red wine, goes to my head 10:12 - Jul 22 with 1231 viewsunbelievablue

I think I've worked out how to mitigate the effects of over-indulging in red wine. Foolproof steps:

- Pint of water per bottle of wine
- Anti-histamine before bed
- Pint of water before bed
- Stay in bed and grab another hour's sleep
- Pint of water upon getting up
- 2x ibuprofen
- Spicy huevos rancheros

Doing my planned 15km run today looked a bloody long shot at midnight last night, watching Pretty Woman and eating cheese, but I reckon it's a goer by early afternoon.

Anyway, anyone else hungover?

Aye, I had a couple of pints in the evening. Forgot about that.

I’m suffering this morning...had a bulger wheat chicken salad washed down with a La Goudale and a few other beers last night and I’ve got a head ache and absolutely stink...the wife kicked me out of bed this morning.

I got on scales this week for first time in a month following changing my training...doing a couple of 5k’s each week with times around 26mins then doing lots of compound exercises...squats, deadlifts, kettle bells etc and just a getting my heart rate up. I’ve also cut bread and am focusing on eating fats and proteins after reading about how to get best results as an endomorph body type...and with all that I’ve gone from near 15 stone down to 14.1. Fully expect to be in the 13’s by next weekend...now to sweat out the ale this afternoon

Nice one. Agree that mixing it up is the key.

Yeah I was doing a lot of isolation exercises...chest Monday, back Tuesday etc and it worked to an extent but I’m now wanting to lose weight and that means getting the heart rate up. Set my sights this year to moderate my weight at 14 stone but reckon I’m going to push for 13.5 now I’ve figured out how to live without bread and know when I’m actually hungry

Enjoy your run...feels a bit cooler today.

13.5 stone is also my long term maintenance goal.

1st of June I was 16st, 9.5lbs. I'm now 15st, 4lbs.

HiiT for 15 or 20 minutes, like the Body Coach ones on Youtube, are immense.

Well done.

I wouldn’t try too hard at reducing your weight at a quicker rate than that, though.

Yeah it's been slightly too fast thus far, but it'll slow down now that I am closer to where I should be. I was flabby as hell when I started and carrying water weight.

Nice work dude. HiiT really is the key...running endlessly on a treadmill or going on a x-trainer is good but folk don’t realise that 15mins of HiiT can be just as effective as an hours worth of running. I’m definitely at my strongest now, just got to lose a bit of the excess timber.

Inexplicably well today, despite drinking Adnams, Estrella, two thirds of a bottle of red wine and an indeterminate amount of rhubarb and ginger gin.

I'm afeared for the evening.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
