Positive with relegation 06:53 - Jan 10 with 1136 viewsMrTown

Dose of positive from MrNegative. As wkj rightly pointed out, dropping to L1 emphasises the need for frugality, which will probably force the hand of seeing more of our talented youngsters in L1. This team I believe has attacking PL blueprint all over it and is rather exciting:

Gerken
Emmanuel – Chambers - Woolfenden – Kenlock
–––––-––– Skuse ––– Downes ––––––––
– Lankester –––– Bishop ––––––- Sears ––
–––––––––––– Morris –––––––––––––

Wouldnt be a terrible shout, though Lankester may end up sold. The club offering him a new contract so soon after his first pro deal suggest people were sniffing around for him, which if we go down his sale could be one of many to help cushion the financial hammerblow.

Don’t say that!! Really looking forward to seeing him play in future years. The inevitable is there but please can we get a few years out of him!!

If a player is likely to be sold they wouldn't sign a new deal.

LOL, Lankester now is it? We won't have any players left if you lot had your way.

Are there any promising 12 year olds we can sell? May as well admit there's no future now.

We wouldn't want to sell Lankester and Downes - they are pretty integral to our team - but may be left with little choice if relegation happens. Offers coming in and perhaps transfer requests from the lads themselves so they can continue playing at Championship level (or higher).

That's why we need to fight with everything we've got to avoid the drop. It will put us still further on the back foot when it comes to keeping our best players.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Rather weak up top, has the same issue with small players spearheading the attack. Might be more inclined to put Harrison* in that position.

* Who is, after all, one of our own, younger players now.

Think we will just sell Dozzell and get big earners off the books, keep Skuse. Unless of course somebody comes in with silly money. In a wierd way I’m looking forward to a new challenge albeit probably League 1.

I didn’t say I would want to sell it’s a case if we might have to. We usually sell a player every season and being relagated would almost certainly mean we have to sell players.

this side would be bottom half lg1. Extremely lightweight & cant expect Morris who couldnt even get a game for forest green to lead the line and score goals in lg1
