This story is really the perfect metaphor for broken brexit Britain.

My favourite part

He said one witness "explained to staff that things kicked off when another passenger appeared dressed as a clown. This upset one of their party because they'd specifically booked a cruise with no fancy dress. It led to a violent confrontation."

didn't realise you could book such a specific cruise

An afternoon of "patriotic" partying … had specifically booked a cruise with no fancy dress.

It does sound very like broken Brexit Britain to me.

What version of Brexit did the voters all book?

That is the bigger question. And when Boris finally delivers it/fails to deliver it, who will kick off first/most?

The bloke could have quite innocently wanted to go to a party as a clown and ended up in a brawl. Not his fault.

Coulrophobia's no laughing matter. Fully justifies beating the crap out of someone, especially if you're a true patriot.

Agree, I have one friend who freaks when seeing people wearing masks, and other who actually does get severe anxiety when encountering clowns - I won't be inviting them to my "It"-themed party then..

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

There is only one type of cruise to book, and that is no cruise at all.

'Douglas Harper, Online Etymology Dictionary, 2001—2019. “Coulrophobia looks suspiciously like the sort of thing idle pseudo-intellectuals invent on the internet and which every smarty-pants takes up thereafter; perhaps it is a mangling of Modern Greek klooun "clown," which is the English word borrowed into Greek'

They are a good option if you want to be trapped on a giant barge with thousands of other dysentery sufferers. In fact that's the only option if that's your desire.
