We simply do not score enough goals, our best teams in the past had midfielders or defenders who chipped in with goals, we now seem totally reliant on the front two doing the business in front of goal..its just so predictable hump it up and hope for the best .

You have a shorter memory than my boy's hamster: Woolfenden scored last weekend. Yes it was 1-0 but definitely not hoofball.

I’ve said ALL season ( even in Aug / Sept), that we will catch a cold this season because we are
1) in spot scoring more than 1 goal for 99% of games.
2) we gift opponents their goals .

It’s not changed all season .

Approximately 1.4 goals per game. Which tells you on average, if we concede even once we are unlikely to win.

Worked when we were keeping clean sheets, but there is the reason for our slump down the table

Agree that we could do with more goals from other areas of the team but getting goals is not helped by leaving your best goal scoring option on the bench. Norwood has to play every week for me. He and Jackson is the best partnership we have.

Yep and we create so little for the two up front at the same time, once again i feel a bit sorry for Jackson, chasing utter aimless sh!te balls once again today...

We've not created lots all season, even in our good spell. We were extremely clinical in those ga es and that never lasts.

I know expected goals gets some stick on here but it's a good indication of how creative you are. We aren't.

From what I have seen of us, we have little shape to our attacks, our best pairing is Norwood and Jackson but we desperately lack a decent targetman who can win headers and hold the ball up

We seem to make two common mistakes

1) punting the ball into space for Jackson to chase
2) punting the ball up to Keane who suffers from Jon Stead syndrome where despite being tall is pants in the air

Both are easy ways out of situations but they mean we lose the ball and get nothing out of these hopeful punts

Judge whilst he appeared to be improving, does seem to go missing against the more physical sides and we don't link our play up very well with the front two when this happens

Judge for me, is more suited to the wings where he can whip balls in, I'm not convinced he is a number 10

I know people were having their doubts about Danny Rowe but I do think we are missing him, not necessarily in the number 10 role but he at least has a turn of pace, a decent touch and the ability to move the ball forward positively

You can see why we have been linked with Kevin Van Veen, we are definitely still missing something upfront. Whether he is the answer or whether we could even attract him is quite another issue.

More than anything our season has fallen apart without Kane Vincent-Young

I'm not sure what the obvious answer is to our problems but we certainly aren't quite as good as we thought we were

The lack of games where we put more than 1 goal past an opposition is a worry for a side who believes they should be getting out of this league

At the moment, the threat of another season at this level is very real. The danger of that is the fire sale of promising talent we want to keep hold of, the only saving grace is if we were to go up with current rabble too early, we will probably get smashed in the Championship.

^^ "saving grace is if we were to go up with current rabble too early, we will probably get smashed in the Championship"

Said this on the way home tonight, it maybe a blessing in disguise, it's not as if ME would pull out the cheque book IF we went up, and boy he'd need too..

I don't want Wolfy, Downes and others to go but if you get good money for them and recruit well, it isn't so bad

The problem is the recruitment with money under Evans generally under virtually all our managers has been poor

MM worked miracles on no budget

Lambert has actually recruited reasonably well and he has arrested the slide but we now need to kick on

Will that happen if we sell our most promising youngsters
