Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson
The bookies had Douglas at 40/1.
Tyson was unbeaten in 37, including ten in world title fights, Douglas had lost 4 times.

No one told the bookies that Tyson didn't bother training for the fight though. Plus he had Douglas down for 12 seconds as well

eh ? ? ?

Nobody told the bookies anything

they merely adjust the odds to suit the money bet

they DON'T guess at what they think will happen

it's amazing that there are folk who still think this

So a whole load of people bet Tyson at even money to smash the price down then?

No, that's just you making up stuff

Th odds are adjusted to ensure that whatever happens they will make a profit - so those odds reflect their liability should any result happen.

Much like the casino with having an empty place on the wheel

If bookies guessed/predicted they would be out of business within days
