Just goes to show how little we really know about this virus which makes any outcome hard to predict.

An Oxford study says that Coronavirus may have infected half of UK population on 13:35 - Mar 25 with 1256 views | Guthrum | Will be based on some form of statistical modelling. But given we don't know accurate start dates, propagation rates or, really, that much detail about interactions within the UK population, then it's questionable how reliable anything is at this stage. But, equally, it's all we currently have to go on.

Or it becomes endemic in the population and keeps returning.

Indeed. There seems to be a lot of anecdotal evidence from people saying that they had mild symptoms in February/early March but just put it down to be under the weather. I had a sore throat and mild cough in February, which is unusual for me, but thought nothing of it at the time. A test to see if anyone has had this will be massive for getting people back to work. Possibly, we don't know as yet. I've seen a few reports suggesting a degree of optimism in that regard but again it's too early to really know.

Not just that GB but as with any virus. Two healthy people can get it - one shows maybe only symptom, a cough and has a mild case, whilst the other get's all symptoms and raging temperature, etc etc This virus appears no different, in that regards to others. It is entirely possible (and likely given testing rates) that way more have got it or have it that we know - I doubt that is really in question.

An Oxford study says that Coronavirus may have infected half of UK population on 13:50 - Mar 25 with 1169 views | Basuco | A friend of mine went to China in November and was very ill when he returned as was his girl friend, after a week at home a guy who was decorating his home also went down with it and was off work for 2 - 3 weeks. Likewise my boss went to India in January with a group of photography friends, half that group were very ill and one died. All symptoms were the same as Covid 19 but no one has yet been tested. So we are still very much in the dark as to how many cases there have been as there is no way of knowing if they have had the virus or if they did, how many they passed it on to.

This is why the anti-body test is more important for testing if you have it right now.

An Oxford study says that Coronavirus may have infected half of UK population on 14:25 - Mar 25 with 1056 views | Swansea_Blue | That triggered a good dose of healthy(?) paranoia from me: Have you already had 'it'? by Swansea_Blue 24 Mar 2020 18:36https://twitter.com/PickardJE/status/1242489840068894720
Makes you wonder. Me and her and the two poor kids who have to share our house have all been a bit rough over the last 10 or so days now. Started with the kids of course - cold-like symptoms, sore throat. Then I've had what can best be described as a dry cold for at least a week, bit achy, occasional flushes, bit tight chested and get knackered doing anything.
I assumed you'd really know if you got it, but there seem to be an increasing number of people testing positive who had mild or no symptoms.
Until they have a widely available antibody test, we'll never know I suppose (so good news from Hanc0ck tonight). That'll be a huge breakthrough because they could then start letting those with resistance back out to help others.

Isn't the population of the UK 58million? Do they reuse the 3.5 million tests 16 times?
