BBC Top Team Poll excl Premier League era 21:18 - Apr 29 with 902 views | RAW | BBC are running a poll to find the best side to grace old Championship/League 1 or Div 2 but have annoyingly excluded the Town side which won League 2 in 60/61 followed by League 1 in 61/62 - I believe the only team to win back to back promotion titles in the top two tiers at the time (and still not achieved by anyone since?). Lots of comments noting the absence of the ITFC achievement. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52416054
BBC Top Team Poll excl Premier League era on 23:05 - Apr 29 with 801 views | The_Last_Baron | No surprise from the BBC. An organisation well past it's put out to roost date. The best side I've seen in the second tier is Sheffield Wednesday 1990-91. They were a fantastic side full of excellent players who won promotion and the League Cup that season. They went on to reach both Cup Finals in '93 and I think finish 3rd. Wolves were very good recently, Reading had a fine side around 2006 which included Glen Little and our side for the second half of the 97-98 season was as good as any.

Ah, but we're the only team to win the top division in our first ever season in the top division.* *After promotion into that league, i.e. excluding the first ever winners.

BBC Top Team Poll excl Premier League era on 06:47 - Apr 30 with 672 views | Pendejo | The quoted article indicated Spurs did it 49/50 - 50/51, they had a player called Alf Ramsey... We are the only side Robson too division at first attempt, record never to be equalled, probably. The year Forest came up they finished 3rd, what they did next was pretty impressive.
