100 greatest managers 11:53 - May 8 with 1727 views | woodbridge_blue | Just been reading Four Four Two's article on the 100 greatest managers of all time, worldwide. Bit surprised to see relatively low positions for Sir Bobby (46th) and Sir Alf (26th). The one that made me think though is Rinus Michels in second place...obviously well deserved, particularly bearing in mind not only his achievements but also his influence on the likes of Cruyff, Van Gaal and Guardiola, but I think I'm right in saying that Town took his sides on four times and won three of them (Barcelona in 1977 and Cologne in 1981).

The last I heard of him he was trying to catch a bus back from Everton to Norfolk. He should of got a return ticket! How long did he last at Everton? It wasn't very long if I recall. Let's investigate... Just looked it up, here we go: https://www.toffeeweb.com/club/managers/Walker.asp "Nicknamed "The Silver Fox", Walker is remembered for some extremes of emotion at Goodison Park... and for the shortest tenure of any manager in the Everton hot seat to date — just 10 months."
