I wonder if the camera angle may be playing tricks and making them look closer; as you say the officer doesn’t seem to be aiming at them. |  |

Not wanting to appear to be defending the actions of trump or the police in the slightest but I saw this image over a month ago and like you was applied.
Then somebody posted the full image from a direct angle and the cop wasn’t pointing his gun at the father and child.
Regardless, it’s a powerful image and highlights the disconnect from law enforcement and the black community in the US. [Post edited 25 Jul 2020 7:45]

The fact he is pointing a tear gas weapon within 6 feet of the father and child is enough tbh.

Yes it’s awful. I’m suprised you’ve only just seen this. It was doing the rounds in early June.
As Imsaid in my previous post it’s a powerful image. And one that may endure in a similar way to the protester standing in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square. | |

Yes the perspective's all wrong given the police officers are clearly further away.
If I had to guess, I'd say he's aiming a good 5-10 feet to the right.
Either way, a horrible juxtaposition and awful for the child who is blameless whatever is going on. I hope her father took her off his shoulders and out of there. | |
