Not great news.

These people don't realise what grave danger they are in by venturing out to sea in overcrowded and unsafe vessels.

I have been directly involved with this and it is a common occurrence - more than what is reported to the press. The worst tragedy I came across was a fishing boat crammed with migrants below decks which capsized due to being overloaded.

A mixture of both I should think.

As well as many being bullied by gangs once they get to the coastal areas.

I doubt many get much say what happens beyond that point.
