Nootropics 11:47 - Sep 18 with 1431 viewsBrixtonBlue

Anyone tried them? Any good? Or just another health fad designed to take your money?

I'm trying some at the moment and seem to have a bit more energy (I don't find myself reaching for a can of Tenzing energy drink on the days I have them). But then is it another placebo type thing?

I don't seem to have any noticeable difference in brain function. I mean I'm still posting sh!t on here for starters.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

What are they?

Nootropics (/noʊ.əˈtrɒpɪks/ noh-ə-TROP-iks) (colloquial: smart drugs and cognitive enhancers) are drugs, supplements, and other substances that may improve cognitive function, particularly executive functions, memory, creativity, or motivation, in healthy individuals.

Yep, regularly take nootropics and adaptogens. I've found some natural adaptogens (ashwagandha specifically) really helps manage work stress etc.

I'm probably the worst advert for them on TWTD :)

Anything you buy over the counter is almost certainly snake oil and the evidence for 'proper' medications is very weak.
