Amazing what increasingly the tempo did. Nervy, far from comfortable but always nice to win.

Wasn't it frustrating that we then just stopped and reverted to type though ... Great goals both taken well.

Thought Dobra did really well. In addition to his undoubted skill he worked his socks off.

Much improved by Woolfie as well ... Having his hair cut seems to have done the trick.

One of those weird victories that doesn’t really tell you much other than getting players close to support the striker is a good idea and that Dobra is at the stage where he needs a run of games to try and smooth off some rough edges.

That we’ve been so poor recently and are still 4th (games in hand depending) shows how bad this league is and how frustrating it is that we haven’t taken advantage of it.

Next week starts to look like a very important game. Pompey are very beatable. Win it and suddenly things start to appear brighter, especially given the fixtures (Posh aside) that follow it. None of which changes anything that's happened this week, or the problems we are all so hugely concerned about — but we need to escape L1 this season above anything so if the results start to come it's important we welcome that. Let's hope they do.

I don't know why it took a man getting sent off for us to up the tempo. As soon as it was upped we looked good for 10 minutes before going slow again.

I'd like to see Bennetts Jackson and Dobra start with Hawkins up top. Good win and probably deserved. Harder tests to come.
