Towards the bottom of that article, it states that the Road Hauliers Association claim that exports over the channel are down by 68% in January. Government claim that lorry movements are down by only 10%. Curiously, both are probably right. Government seem to happy to ignore that many of the lorries cross the channel are now empty. Which on one level is true - it has happened so it's no good pining over what was lost. But we have to work to minimise the impacts, rather than just "get over it".
You'll find most of the people telling us to get over it are those who haven't been directly affected. For those of us who have, it's been nothing but a pain in the backside and will continue to make life more difficult. | |
