Was anything said about Woolf and McG missing out entirely? 09:55 - Feb 21 with 707 viewspointofblue

Considering both centre backs had not played since injury I’d expect at least one of them to be on the bench instead of both full backs?

I worry about how dropping them entirely from the 18 will have been handled and why Lambert chose to do so.

However, had one CB needed replacing, Mathieson could have come on and Chambers moved across. I would imagine the next option would have been for Ward to play there.

Yeah, I suppose the bigger concern was if Kenlock went down we wouldn’t have a specialist left back to take his place, whilst Matheson coming on and switching Chambers to CB would be the first go swap. Not sure I like the idea of Ward at CB if both Nsiala and Wilson had to go off though.

They have both played a lot of games in a short period of time, a weekend off would be an understandable move, also Chambo is a CB. I don't think there is too much in this. I would also say that as Toto and Wilson were superb yesterday, did Lambert play them against a specific attacking threat Oxford use? Holy was a spectator for much of the game due to the excellent protection in front of him.

Basically our 2 best cbs started yesterday and kept a clean sheet. Not sure anything else needs to be said.
