Does everyone think PC will be able to change the number of players he needs ? 20:21 - Mar 27 with 570 views3_5_2

Seriously, there are so few players who look they care or have the ability to fit in what what PC wants to do. I’ve seen various posts on the subject but I would keep so few here now

Yes he has quite a number out of contract which helps but can he get that many in?

I saw we have 52 professionals. 52? Even allowing for 2 for each position, a couple of utility players who can play 2/3 positions, just how big a squad do we need? Not 52 that’s for sure

Yes, a huge clear out is needed but in one summer window it’s going to be near impossible, he may need 2 windows to get anywhere near what he needs to do

He has identified so much that needs attention already, I hope he gets the support from ME to do it.

Hindsight is always 20:20

Once the out of contract players and loans are gone we will have a very bare-bones squad. There will not be significant money to bring people in as the club has stated. Can Cook work with these restrictions is the real question. I cannot see Evans funding a big promotion push next season. He will look to lower the wage budget to something far more manageable to him and in line with L1 expectations.

...when he brought in Parrott, Thomas, Harrop and Matheson?

This was during the worst financial crisis lower league clubs have ever faced.

The issue with Evans isn't particularly about spending money, it's about who he spends it on.

All loans. Nine will wear a Town shirt next season.

Evans preferred the route of high wages rather than high transfers. These players have no value to the club other than when they play. We can’t sell them for a profit in order to fund more player investment.

Any player we do have of value is allowed to run their contracts down and leave in a free. It’s always short term with Evans.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

....the premise that he's going to, or already is, reduce the wage budget.

His operating model has been to throw every single penny he can at the wage budget, ultimately to the detriment of the rest of the club.

His plan has plainly been to get us promoted (from whatever league) at all costs and then backfill all of the areas of underfunding when that happens.

But it hasn't happened because he's crap at running a football club.
