"This guy showed huge promise and was seen as a future star. He went on loan to Germany. Left sided. For me he never got the run of games needed to prove himself."

Another Championship level player joining, with something to prove!

We seem to be concentrating on some players who have shown good potential in their early days but whose progress, for one reason or other, has then stalled a bit.

That could pay big dividends if we can get them back on track.

GB did similar when building the 2000 squad.

Holland - released by WHU
Clapham - by Spurs
Mogga - too old
Reuser - overcoming injury
Johnson - released by Man U

Sure there were others too.

Am I wrong that Brentford did the same with Premier League and elite Europe league academy rejects who then started showing excellent stats in lower tiers?

Or am I making that up?!

Can that be said about Evans, Burns or Hladky?

I am not so sure.

I am not convinced of Penney being a no.1 choice. I haven't seen a lot of people rave about him yet.

New team, new manager and fresh start which I am hoping helps him.

See him right as a versatile support option in the squad. First choice LB and LM still needed.
