Some of the recent youngsters in the first team recently are with u23s.
Could we see a similar downes inclusion to 1st team squad like we did with Jackson.........

It’s one outcome.
Could well be he has a niggle, or a move is close to completing.
It’s a shame what has happened to Downes, and I think if he were another option in midfield we’d be very strong in there.
However, some poor decision making and advice on his side of things, and now his desire to leave hasn’t changed - it’s very hard to see a way back for him. |  |

The advantage of someone new of similar ability replacing Downes though,is that that player will want to play for us and buy into the project. |  |

You either want to be here, or you aren’t happy here - unfortunately he is the latter.
Ashton has spoken about people having to buy into the culture of the club, and it would somewhat undermine them words if we then accept a player into the squad who doesn’t want to be here.

Right from start of preseason, I has him marked as his attitude is what is letting him down. Just like Dozzle, I think he needs a new club to be at to pick himself up and restart his carrier |  | | |
