Some plaster has come away from an external wall. Back to the brickwork. Not a lot but needs repairing.

Any tips on what to use?

I'd recommend using a tradesman who knows what he's doing.

If you know anyone who has some large bags, a water hose jet, saw and possibly a hammer and chisel they should be able to sort it for you.

A lot depends on the age of the property. Sounds like its an early 1900 property so could be lime morter. Get a plaster in who knows this this sort of work, through recommendation , if thats not possible look for someone with a lot of experience (old guy) sorry i'm a heating engineer however I come across this problem quite often.

Do you mean plaster on the inside, or render on the outside of the building?

If the former, PVA glue, then bonding coat up to one or two mm from the surface, than patching plaster to finish.

If the latter, a sand and cement mix.

Edit: Tho as Leaky says, could be lime plaster, in which case get a professional.

If you need lime, I have half a bag in the boot of my car going spare.
