Something different to talk about. But this kid could be something.

What I like and you see it more on the highlight is when Aluko.didnt play him in he wasn't afraid to moan about it. Which tbf a youngster having the confidence to do that to someone as experienced as Aluko is brilliant to see. Appreciate its not ground breaking but it's something I think shows a great level of maturity about him.

What position did he play on his sub appearance today?

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

That's very interesting and encouraging. Cref that with Bailey Clements' comments after Colchester, something along the lines of "I didn't volunteer to take a pen, I let the senior lads do it". This worried me - to break into a team as a youngster, you need to be full of self-belief that you're better than the old pro ahead of you, and as a left back he should be supremely confident about how he can strike a set piece - this is the weaponry of a modern fullback these days.

I'd call it the celina role. Floating between left the 10 area dependent on the phase of where the ball was being worked.

That lack of confidence showed with Clements on his debut. That chance from the quick free kick and he had a couple more on games following. That's not a slight on him. But he just needs to build that confidence up

Humphries looks determined and gets stuck in too.

Yeah, no real comment on his ability, just that it felt a bit like a small-town mentality, which the really top players clearly don't have

Sadly I don’t think Clements has quite what it takes unlike Humphries.
