Clements contract expires in the summer, although we have an option for an extra year - at this point I'd be surprised if we take the option, unless he performs brilliantly at Stevenage.
Corrie Ndaba is still around as well and had been playing well at Salford, and would be ideal as a left-sided centre-back. |  | | |

Those were the comments I was referring to. Unlike Harper, he doesn't talk about 'coming back to pre-season hopefully fit and hungry and really willing to make a good impression', just 'what’s going to be right for him for next year.'
I may be reading too much into it and perhaps Clements is further down than Harper in the pecking order, so less need to be talked up. Or it's different psychology for individual players. I'm not suggesting for a minute that Clements is going to be discarded, but the tone is more different than I'd thought. | |
