When was that picture taken (as opposed to making it into the public domain)? Also where? The troops on exercise in Belarus and elsewhere will be simulating combat deployment.
Putin might still try something, but I think it unlikely. He doesn't actually need to risk the mess, sanctions and casualties which would come with military action. Wouldn't make sense when people are paying diplomatic attention to Russia's interests.

I doubt a modern Russian field deployment looks a lot different!
Probably still got the same missiles too.
Im convinced if it ever came to a full-blown nuclear war, half of Russia's missiles would be duds. Though the half that did work would still do enough damage!
