Who else had a pocket tranny?
Had mine in my blazer pocket at school using a wired earpiece to listen to cup draws, which were at 12.30 Monday lunch time

I did. A small red one. Phillips maybe? It was small but had no carry case. It was an old friend of a device I had for years. And yes, I listened to the FA Cup draws on a Monday with it.

If you were abroad, you had to find world service. Twirl the dial carefully and eventually you’d find Peter Jones’ magnificent voice saying ‘welcome to world service listeners wherever you may be’.
