Morning after thoughts... 08:23 - Feb 20 with 712 views | Pendejo | I made some school boy errors; baseball cap instead of something warmer, didn't wear hiking boots, left scarf and gloves in boot of the car, had an ice cold pint before going into a stand that had an icy wind going into it. Nice early goal helped warm me up. Burton There were aspects of their game which was horrible, but their high press including all outfield players in the attacking third when they had a corner was admirable, adventurous and highly risky if the opposition have pace. The guy on their right side was wearing some sort of ankle support (assumed) that was black and looked like they were an extension of his boots, to me it looked like he was playing in Doc Martens. Combine that with his skinhead look I felt he looked like a Sunday morning football village team enforcer... I'm thinking of you Charlie of ******. But ultimately they were not good or fit enough and were undone by Action Jackson. Has Jackson had a better game in an Ipswich shirt? MOTM? He had competition from Walton some truly excellent saves. Back to Jackson a second, two Waldorf and Stadtler types, in front of me, booed his name before the game. Why? Why would you boo someone other than car molester Zouma before a game? My son speculated why but there was no other evidence to back that up. Was really good of KMK to allow Jackson his own personal standing ovation, well deserved. KMK has a helluva job on his hands. He has to keep the squad happy, there's too many attacking players than can safely be fielded. Then there's our expectations; let's face it, in the face us being utter cack for most of the last 20 odd seasons our expectations are irrationally high, KMK having a win ratio of 70% hardly moderates that expectation. Then there's collecting clean sheets like stamps, a clean sheet = at least 1 point. Finally, back to us, the fans. 20,000+ again 3rd tier, folks I remember sub-20,000 crowds in the last 2 Robson years where we finished 2nd twice and won UEFA Cup. Our biggest crowds tended to be when the away following was massive... As it was for Sunderland, granted, but, 80/81 I think the average crowd was 21,000. I like what Blue Action are doing, keep it up. | |
