Good David Conn piece on Abramovich on 12:41 - Mar 4 with 1084 views | Radlett_blue | I don't think there's much out there that wasn't already known to people with a degree of curiosity. When Abramovich bought Chelsea he wasn't widely known, but it was fairly clear that he'd become very rich by doing more than selling rubber ducks from his Moscow flat. The gates were opened when the football authorities welcomed foreign owners, as checking their credentials was always going to be more difficult. The "fit & proper" test came in during 2004, after Abramovich bought Chelsea, but I find it hard to believe he would have been barred. English football has now gone so far down this road that reversing the trend would be near impossible and inevitably subject to expensive litigation. Abramovich selling Chelsea seems to just a part of a series of proposed disposals of assets which he thinks might be sequestered,

And Berezovsky was a crook as well. However, Abramovich diddled him (surprise, surprise) and was, err..., "found dead" a year after trying to recoup a few £bn from Amranovich in the High Court.
